REFLEXOLOGY

Everyone has experienced pain, but what exactly is it?  Some say it is a warning signal.  Some say it is your body telling you something is wrong.  Other, still, say it is a pattern of brain activity, etc.  What’s clear is that pain is a protective mechanism that makes people want to change their behaviour.  It begins with in danger signals from the body being interpreted by the brain and pain emerging into consciousness.  Pain is different for everyone who experiences it, but it is clear that it means something is not right.  And if left untreated, pain can alter a person’s sense of well-being.  When pain begins to interfere with daily life there may be a more serious problem and you should probably go see a doctor, just keep in mind that reflexology has been proven to help alleviate pain without the use of drugs.

Reflexology is effective for managing pain by gently working the “reflex points” on specific areas of the body.  Reflexology induces a state of relaxation that eases tension, releases endorphins, and suppresses the transmission of signals to the spinal cord and brain that may trigger a pain response.  For clients suffering from pain, reflexology is a safe, effective, and non-invasive therapy.  It’s a natural, drug free way to manage pain and improve quality of life.
